Artistic Excellence

Liverpool College takes its cue from the city itself, it's a lively, exciting and challenging place to be, and there's a place for everyone to be at their best. Nowhere is this more evident than in the performing and creative arts.

Every year there is an extensive and wide-ranging programme of events : concerts, exhibitions and productions offering all of our pupils the opportunity to show-case their talents. Fittingly for a school that can number along its alumni Sir Rex Harrison and Sir Simon Rattle, the emphasis is very much on performance. In the past 12 months one Year 9 pupil has sung in Liverpool Cathedral, taken part in our own popular series of concerts in Sefton Park's beautifully restored Palm House. The recent addition of the New Mossley Vale Hall will give further opportunities for artistic performance

As I start this next chapter as the Royal Northern's Undergraduate 'Scholar' Liverpool College has taught me that whilst this is a wonderful beginning, it is only the first step on my career pathway and I will remember all that I have learnt at the College especially about keeping focused and striving to do my best.

From the orchestra to the wind band, the choirs and the rock groups, there's something for everyone. Recent productions of 'Whistle Down the Wind and Oklahoma as well as The Pirates of Penzance have used a cast and crew of a hundred pupils, and the Preparatory School's annual production always offers an opportunity for pupil involvement.
