Cricket Tour to Isle of Man

During their Cricket Tour to the Isle of Man our Year 7 cricketers enjoyed football on the beach, a sports quiz, touch rugby on the beach, a walk in the sea, swimming and a Go Kart competition (which Mr Hall won!). The boys improved as a team during the tournament taking on board their coach's advice.

    Cruyff Finals at Anfield

Both Year 7 boys and Girls represented Liverpool College and Everton Football Club today in the Cruyff Finals at Anfield. There were many teams from all over the UK, representing Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Aberdeen. A fantastic effort from both teams with the boys ending up as runners up to Arsenal. The girls after beating Aberdeen dominated many matches without scoring until the Final match where they beat Arsenal 1-0.

All pupils represented the College wonderfully, their behaviour and manners were superb throughout the tournament.

Many thanks to Adam a former school’s direct trainee and Liverpool College parents for their support and giving up their time. If it wasn’t for their help in supporting the pupils, today would never have happened.  Justin Cook

    Den Building in Reception

Reception children had a great time today building Dens. It's amazing what they can achieve with a few boxes and sticks.

    Easter Bonnets in Pre Prep

Pre Prep is full of Easter Bonnets today.  The Easter Bunny has even visited to see the wonderful bonnets. There will be more photos on the Pre Prep Page and in their Newsletter on Friday.

    Election Fever in Middle School!

Each House in Middle School was given a political party to represent and the challenging task of winning votes from their peers. It did not take long for the eager teams to Google manifestos and begin their plans to appeal to the masses – A.K.A Year 7 and Year 8. The corridors in the Middle School were soon full of campaign posters, the Lib Dems (Hsn) opted to be positive and focus on key policies that would benefit everyone. Labour’s (But) purpose was clearly to show that they were the only choice worth making. The Tories (Bro) and the Green’s (Sel) had a slightly different approach. Not only did they focus upon their own policies, they were quick to highlight the weaknesses of the opposition parties – much like our real politicians!

There was a real buzz in the air when Thursday arrived. The morning began with a good old fashioned hustings event, in the MV Hall. Brave representatives from each party stepped forward to address an audience of around 200 people. Members of the teaching staff could not help but be impressed by the levels of knowledge and analysis displayed by all of our candidates. They confidently reviewed their policies and explained why they were the best choice - voters had a difficult decision to make. Polling stations opened at lunch and many sacrificed their place at the front of the queue for food in order to vote early. For the vast majority, this was their first experience of voting following the rules and regulations of a general election. An impressive turnout of 83% ensured a hotly contested battle and it was evident that we had ‘a marginal’ on our hands. Before long we had a result! The Liberal Democrats (Hsn) narrowly defeated Labour (But) by a slim majority of 6 with the Greens (Sel) one vote further behind. The Conservatives (Bro) also polled well but were unable to match the others. A fantastic event that was conducted in great spirit by the Middle School.

Well done to all of the election teams.

    Mr J Hutchinson

    The Sixth Form Experience

Our Sixth Form is about more than taking A level courses. We aim to provide pupils with a breadth of experiences and challenges which will allow them to develop into independent learners with a passion for further study and the skills to lead others. We do this through careful guidance and mentoring by a committed and caring staff and a rigorous and challenging curriculum which includes experiences in and out of the classroom. Some people call these “soft skills”. They are not easily measured or described in league tables and inspection reports. But it is the development of those skills, the Learning with Character, which makes two years in our Sixth Form a transformational experience for so many pupils.

Our boarders are ambitious and focused on achieving their best in their studies.

Our boarding house is a friendly and supportive environment. It is a home away from home for a diverse and committed group of pupils and staff. The staff support and encourage each pupil to achieve the best academic outcomes and to participate fully in everything Liverpool College has to offer.

Our boarding house is located next to our campus in Derby Hall. Facilities consist of large and comfortable single or twin rooms. In addition, the boarding house has communal rooms for relaxation, study, and snacking.

Boarders share meals in our dining room, excursions, and activities together, Most of all, they are part of a close knit community where they are known and supported. Our last inspection rated boarding as excellent. Read our boarding inspection report here.

What is a State Boarding School and how much does it cost?

There are 38 state boarding schools in the country. They offer free education and only charge for boarding. Because of this, the boarding fees we charge are less than 50% of those charged by private fee paying schools.

To learn about our fees see links below:
