U15 7's squad just miss out on glory in Manchester

Thursday's snowfall would not deter our resilient U15 rugby squad from travelling over to the Audenshaw 7's tournament and going up against some of the best schools in the north.

Wins came against Bury Grammar and West Hill with narrow losses against the hosts Audenshaw and then Stockport GS, the favourites to win the event.

Every member of the squad put their 'body on the line' and team spirit was superb going in to the plate final against a strong Kirkham Grammar side.

Could they scoop the prize?  Thomas, Cain and Wilson had been 'on fire' all day ..... Could this Kirkham side 'put them out???' The troops were rallied by coaches Lavender and Muscatelli

The scene was set.... the sun was out.... away they went.

The game was tough from start to end, it was going to be a test of strength... and possibly of durability.

Unfortunately there was no happy ending and we were defeated 4 tries to 1 by an excellent Kirkham team, but what a fantastic effort by this group of young men who never ever let us down.

They move quickly on to their next challenge, the Lancashire Final against RGS Lancaster, next Sunday lunchtime at Fylde RUFC 1.15pm KO.

We hope you can come and support us, and bring along friends and family too.

If anyone can not make their way there and is wanting to come on the team coach, leaving school at 11am, please email Mr Smith asap This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
