The Oratory School, Oxfordshire Y10 Football team make a visit to the weekend fixtures

A feast of sport took place last Saturday on the sports fields and astro turf.

There were over 35 footballers from Y8 taking on Sefton Schoolboys and Oldham Hulme Grammar School and hockey players from Y7 to Y11 entertaining Cowley from St Helen's. Whilst the Y8s performed admirably on the football pitch, the hockey players enjoyed an unbeaten morning with the hockey stick and ball.

Over at Oldham Hulme Grammar School, the treacherous conditions didn't stop the Y7, Y9 and Y10 football teams from an undefeated morning. The Y7s won 6-5, the Y9s drew 4-4 and the Y10s won 3-0 and all players performed admirably.

After a victorious morning, the Y10s returned home to play a second football match of the afternoon versus the Oratory School, Oxfordshire and the game turned out to be a belter! Each side enjoyed first half leads before a share of the spoils meant a 2-2 draw. Hospitality was put on for both teams and families enjoyed food and drink in the canteen at the end of the match.

A brilliant day of sport for all concerned and pupils have been praised for their excellent behaviour, standard of uniform and appearance and commitment to sport.
Mr Cook (Director of Sport)
