Chapter 8 boys hockey match versus St Margaret's

On Tuesday, the Chapter 8 boys hockey team played their second match of the term versus St Margaret's. It's fantastic to see the return of boys hockey at the College and the boys were amazing. They have portrayed a fantastic attitude throughout both matches and are always keen to impress. We are hoping to build on boys hockey next term.

Liverpool College and Liverpool Collegiate U13s engage in a friendly match

On Thursday evening, a mixture of pupils from Liverpool College A and B Chapter 8 rugby team played a match versus local club side Liverpool Collegiate. Ironically, several of Collegiate players are pupils from Liverpool College. The coldest of evenings didn't stop an entertaining match from taking place and this was a great opportunity to promote club rugby to many pupils. Well done to all involved.

Chapter 8 Football Team beat St Edwards College in Titanic Battle

Last Thursday, St Edwards College made the short trip to play the Chapter 8 football team. The match was played on a very sunny afternoon and it turned out to be a belter! St Edwards team was full of talented individuals and put on a fighting display, determined to beat our Chapter 8 team. After an entertaining goalless first half, the second half was full of goals and it was St Edwards who took the lead from a corner. Back came the home team and a quick turn outside the penalty area from captain Erdis R created space to fire home from the tightest of angles. The second shortly followed when Erdis R fed Marco B from outside the area and he thumped the ball into the top corner. It was at this stage the home team began to take complete domination and Khalil M broke free from the left hand side, cut in and fired home number 3. This was a huge test for the home team and they passed with flying colours.

Sports Team Training

On Thursday, pupils from Chapter 7 and 8 made the short trip to the Rotunda Inclusive Hub. The aim was to help support sports teams with their concentration and mental focus before sporting fixtures. The coaches asked the pupils to perform a number of tasks around mental ability and every pupil performed to their highest ability to impress the coaches. It was an impressive morning and we will return to the Hub in the near future.

Seven goal win ensures the Chapter 8 team are back to winning ways

Last Saturday, the Chapter 8 football team made the trip to Sandbach School. Having previously conceded two late goals in the previous match to draw 4-4, the boys were keen to make amends. There had been two hard working training sessions during the week to prepare for this match and a few changes made to the starting line-up. The team had been spoken to during the week about the importance of been prepared off the pitch, therefore, all turned up on time 8.00am sharp, dressed immaculately in blazer, collar and tie and were keen to impress.

The training sessions paid off as the boys put in a hard-working performance, pressing their opposition throughout into making mistakes. The 7-0 score line suggests it was very one sided and that was only because of the hard work, resilience, and determination of the team. A mention must go to centre back Archie M and right back Phil H who stepped into the starting line-up and impressed throughout the match.

Hale Lighthouse

The boarders requested more walks for their weekend activity. They went to Hale Lighthouse on Saturday 5 March. It was a lovely day for a walk along the River Mersey. They also saw the statue of John Middleton, the 'Childe of Hale'. John was reported to be 9 feet 3 inches tall. Legend tells that he slept with his feet out of the window of his small house.
