Why train with us?
We believe passionately in developing both the intellect and the character of all who work with us – whether they be pupils, staff or trainees. If you choose to train with Liverpool College School Direct Alliance we will ensure that you experience all aspects of teaching, including opportunities for a wide range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
The schools in our alliance work collaboratively to share expertise and innovative practice so that trainees benefit from the varied experience of our staff. On placement you will be able to observe and learn from outstanding practitioners, with the support of committed and experienced mentors.
In 2014 I started my school direct programme through Liverpool College and Hope University. With the warm kindness and encouragement from all of the Prep School staff I was made to feel welcome from day one. My mentor was Miss Robinson and I also worked closely alongside Miss Hirst teaching Year 5. I couldn't have asked for better teachers to support and guide me throughout the year. After an enjoyable yet challenging year it came to the gruelling time of job applications and interviews. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to interview at Liverpool College and was offered a job to teach Year Three the following September.
My experience at Liverpool College couldn't have been better; Liverpool College has continued to teach me many things both inside and outside of the classroom. Mrs Nelson has ensured a supportive network allowed my teaching to progress immensely. Most notably, through my NQT mentor Mrs Edwards, who has helped to guide and support me during my first year teaching at the school. The help and support is always there and I am very grateful for everything they have done throughout my continuing professional development.
