Careers Fair

Liverpool College pupils got an important glimpse into the world of work this week when they participated in a careers and providers fair. Open to all pupils from Y9, Y10 and Y12, volunteers from a wide range of professions gave the pupils an opportunity to learn about their chosen field and the qualifications and skills required to flourish in that sector. The fair included educational providers, businesses and individual professionals. In total, 38 exhibitors were in attendance at the event. This included an author, doctor, engineer, civil servant, MP, marketing manager, solicitor, case worker, Judge, optometrist, software designer, cloud infrastructure manager, banker, analyst and the assistant director of child services. Also represented at the event was the army, police, civil service, NHS, social welfare and the institute of mechanical engineers. We also were delighted to welcome to the event the National Apprenticeship Service, Edge Hill, LIPA, Myerscough College, Hope Academy, St Helens College, LMA Institute for media, music and performing arts, The Studio, Liverpool University and the University of Central Lancashire. It was delightful to see the pupils and students so interested and engaged throughout the event, asking insightful questions and expressing and developing their aspirations for the future. Our thanks to Mrs Doran and Mrs Drew for organising the event.
