Liverpool College converted to Academy Status in September 2013. We educate children from 4 – 18 years old and welcome applications from parents both within and outside the Liverpool area.
The school is heavily oversubscribed and admission to year groups other than Reception, Year 7 and Year 12 is rare although we do hold “In Year Application” waiting lists for Years 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9 & 10.

Reception Admissions September 2025:
On Wednesday 16th April 2025 the local authority notified parents which school their child had been allocated. We appreciate that due to the large number of applications there will be many families who will be disappointed. We have provided the information below to explain how places were allocated.
We received 561 applications for the 90 Reception places. Places were allocated as follows in accordance with our admission policy:
Looked After or Previously Looked After Children = 4
Free School Meal eligibility places = 4
Siblings = 29
Staff child = 1
This left 52 places to be allocated randomly. At the time of random allocation there were 523 children on the list of applicants.
ADMISSION APPEALS
We appreciate that with the large number of applications to the school there will be many families who are disappointed not to be allocated a place. We have applied the Admission Policy which states clearly how applications are dealt with. Please see the Admission Information Booklet here for a reminder of how places are allocated.
Parents have the right to appeal against an admission authority's decision refusing their child admission to a school under section 94(I)(b) and (2) of the 1998 Act. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or 0151 724 4000 ext 3228 to request a form or to ask any questions you may have. You should submit this form by Wednesday 21st May 2025 clearly setting out the reasons for your appeal. You may include any letters, correspondence, written reports or documents that support your case.
Prior to your appeal hearing you will receive a written statement from Liverpool College advising you how the admissions policy was applied in your case, and a general statement explaining the implications for the school of admitting pupils over roll. If you have any questions about the admission policy or how places are allocated please contact Sally Loveridge and she will be happy to advise you. The Government also offer advice on their website: https://www.gov.uk/schools-admissions/appealing-a-schools-decision.
WAITING LIST
All pupils who listed Liverpool College as one of their preferences will be automatically kept on the waiting list for any places that may arise in Reception between September 2025 and July 2026. The list is not ranked but if a place arises the admission procedure will be followed again including a random allocation.
