Liverpool College achieves BSA Sleep Champions Status

We are proud to announce that Liverpool College has been awarded the prestigious Sleep Champions qualification by the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA) — a recognition of our ongoing commitment to promoting healthy sleep habits and overall wellbeing in our boarding community.

The Sleep Champions programme, developed in partnership with The Sleep Charity, is designed to help boarding schools support students in understanding the importance of sleep for physical health, emotional wellbeing, and academic success. Through this training, boarding staff gain expert knowledge in identifying sleep-related challenges and creating routines and environments that support healthy rest.

As part of the qualification, our boarding team has:
  • Completed specialist training in sleep science and sleep hygiene.
  • Reviewed and enhanced our evening routines and boarding environment to promote better rest.
  • Introduced new resources and guidance for pupils on how to manage screen time, create calming bedtime habits, and understand the link between sleep and mental health.
Mrs Eve Latham, Head of Boarding, said:
"Sleep is vital for our students' growth, learning, and wellbeing. Gaining the BSA Sleep Champions qualification not only strengthens the care we offer in boarding, but also equips our team with the tools to support each pupil more holistically. We’re proud to lead the way in putting sleep and self-care at the heart of boarding life.”
