An awesome two days of sport for Chapter 7

There is a buzz around the College this morning and lots of sporting chatter from many pupils in Chapter 7.

Last Friday and Saturday saw many pupils take to the field and astro turf in rugby, hockey and football. The sports staff have spoken on many occasions during games sessions to pupils about the importance of getting things right off the pitch, such as having the correct kit and equipment, being on time, following instructions first time, being organised. These are key elements which put pupils in a position to win sporting matches and Chapter 7 are doing this brilliantly.

Firstly, on Friday the A and B rugby teams made the short trip to St Edwards College on a dry but chilly afternoon. Supported by the 1st XV Rugby Captain, the pupils were quite simply awesome from start to finish and beat St Edwards with renewed grit, power, energy, and determination. On Saturday morning,14 pupils dressed immaculately in blazer and tie, shoes shined were eagerly waiting to make the trip to play football versus St Bede's Manchester. The game was quite simply a belter!! Goals flew in each goal and possession was end to end. In the end the pupils jubilantly celebrated an 8-6 victory. About 15 miles away, the girls hockey team were also in action versus St Bede's College. Text messages were being sent to me by Miss Evans and Miss Pye with the message: this team is brilliant. The team won AGAIN!! and the girls reported on their return that Miss Evans and Miss Pye passionately celebrated with a clench of the fists and a pull of the shirt badge in true Jurgen Klopp style. They are becoming quite a force.

Well done to the pupils, staff and sixth form volunteers.
Mr Cook (Director of Sport)
