Walk to School Protest

Thank you to everyone who supported and took part in the Prep School Walk to School Protest, in support of Walk to School Week.

The pupils made some fantastic banners, partnered with poignant chants to promote walking to school, the park and stride initiative and keeping our zigzags clear. With the musical help of Mr Ainscough, the pupils even performed an original song, which really helped get the message across. There was even a guest appearance from the Walk to School mascot, Strider.

Already, there has been a massive reduction in the number of cars parking so close to school. Please continue to promote and enforce the important message underpinning our protest and help to keep our pupils, and our school, safe.

Boarders Go Ape!

Last weekend a group of boarders tested their fearlessness as they swung through trees, clung to cargo nets and bravely zipped down wires at the Delamere Forest branch (yes, branch!) of the Go Ape outdoor pursuits challenge course.

Vertigo and balance issues notwithstanding, the boys (yes, the girls were too busy revising - they said!), negotiated the testing obstacle course with determination and gusto over 3 hours before returning to Liverpool successful conquerors of Cheshire!

U12-U13 combined Girls Football Team dominate Cheadle Hulme School

Last Saturday, the combined U12/U13 Girls Football team travelled to Cheadle Hulme School to play a 9-a-side fixture on grass. This fixture was played after many pupils had gained the valuable experience of coaching sessions in Holland with the Vitesse Arnhem Academy. The College didn't disappoint as they completely dominated their opposition from start to finish with some brilliant attacking Football which could have been taken out of Jurgen Klopp's textbook. The College were relentless throughout the match and wouldn't give Cheadle Hulme a minutes breathing space. Anna R and Mischa OC provided a formidable attack assisted with numerous crosses by Giselle R. The scoreline finished 7-1 to the College with Anna R scoring a hat-trick, the final score was a true reflection on how dominant the College were during the match.

Year 3 Residential at Barnstondale

Year 3 have returned from their two day residential with beaming smiles, endless stories and very tired bodies.

Arriving on Monday, they dropped off their bags before rushing off to conquer the heights of the climbing wall and to channel their inner Robin Hood down at the archery range. The day continued with wide games, slacklining, dream catcher crafts, drama games, sports, nature arts and more. By the time that night fell, our Year 3s we’re ready for their marshmallows and hot chocolate around the camp fire. Songs were sung, jokes were told and more memories made before they headed off to their beds to recharge, ready for all the adventures that awaited on day 2.
