Boarders celebrate Founders' Day

Our Boarding students celebrated the 182nd anniversary of Liverpool College founding, along with friends, day students, Deans and the Principal with a delicious dinner in the College dinning room.

In Mr Broekman's welcome speech, he spoke about the vision of the founding members and how proud they would be today, to see what it has become.
The evening was filled with smiles, laughter and a debate over who gets to eat the last few potatoes.
Thank you to Mr Coombs and team for yet again another scrumptious meal.

Cognitive Flexibility

Chapter 6 pupils had a masterclass in cognitive flexibility this week during an engaging LCX event. Pupils participated in a range of lateral thinking exercises, where Mrs Doran had them moving rapidly between tasks specifically designed to engage different hemispheres of the human brains. Developing cognitive flexibility techniques trains the brain to be able to adapt to new, changing or unplanned events.

Museum of Liverpool Visit

The boarders visited the Museum of Liverpool and learned all about the history of Liverpool. One of the most fascinating areas of the Museum was the Wondrous Place gallery. It is a gallery for internationally recognised talents across music, sport, cinema, and TV. Who knew so many talented people came from Liverpool?

Inspiring author Seth Burkett visits Liverpool College

Breaking all stereotypes, Seth Burkett is an author with a difference. As a young, professional footballer, who played for Brazil, Seth was inspired by the autobiographies of Vinnie Jones and Peter Crouch and began to realise that you don’t need to choose between being sporty or being a writer – you can do both. He shared his experiences both as a ghost writer and as a children’s author. His inspiring story of rejection and resilience was truly inspirational. Throughout his visit, Seth ran a series of Writing workshops with pupils from Chapter 5 and Chapter 7, giving his top tips and tricks for creative writing.
