Boarders' Book Club

The boarders have started a book club on a Wednesday evening. We are currently reading Wonder by R.J.Palacio which I believe is a very fitting first book for new boarding students. The message I get from the book after reading it is to remember to be kind to everyone around you, no matter what the situation. We all have different backgrounds and different stories.

An Enthusiasm for Rugby within the Boarding House

Rugby is very much part of the boarding house this academic year with two Y8 boarders not only engaging in school sport but are part of local club side Liverpool Collegiate U13s. Cyrus S and Jan IG have recently played in matches at Bolton RFU and Ormskirk RFU and are enjoying the opportunity to improve their skills whilst waiting for their chance to represent the school. They have also engaged in after school rugby sessions alongside other pupils from the Y8 team.

The Return of Merseyside Cross Country at Calderstones Park

On a bright sunny Wednesday afternoon, many Y7 and Y8 pupils competed with several other schools in the return of Merseyside Cross Country at Calderstones Park. All races were very competitive, and pupils portrayed excellent determination and effort spurred on by a strong contingent of supportive LC Parents.

Y7 Inclusive Rugby Day with Sale Sharks

On Monday, over 120 Y7 boys and girls had the opportunity to engage in a rugby session with coach Daisy from Sale Sharks. On a bright sunny day pupils engaged in several fun inclusive rugby games whilst listening to the advice of the coach. Whilst many of the rugby team picked up tips for forthcoming matches, the session was designed to promote school rugby to all pupils.

Tour of Liverpool

One sunny Sunday in Liverpool, 'The Boarders' enjoyed seeing the sites of Liverpool on the 'hop on hop off' bus. They learnt about all of Liverpool's major sights, including The Royal Albert Dock, our iconic waterfront and both of the magnificent cathedrals.

Welcome to our Boarders

They have arrived!

A big welcome to 'The Boarders of 2021'. We have children from all over the world, aged 11-18. It is going to be an interesting year, filled with sports, drama, music and (hopefully) lots of laughter.

We all know by now, I love a good photo opportunity. Here they are stood by the famous Penny Lane street sign. I was surprised when I found out that a few didn't know who the Beatles were, they are now familiar with what songs they sing after I sang to them!
